Cowhide, crosses and turquoise - Turquoise Thursday

Ooh and aah. 

Last weekend I visited my friend Abby. She's been looking for the perfect T.V. stand, something unique. It just so happens that she visited my favorite store in Manhattan, Kansas - the Front Porch. I probably shopped in this store way too much in college - accumulating more stars than the Boy probably prefers ;)

Abby just so happened to find her perfect T.V. stand their, and to my excitement it was turquoise! The stand is also carried by a company called Black Forest Decor, and these are my finds.

Some times you just need a little bit of turquoise. Like the turquoise nuggets on this cowhide table runner. 

And sometimes you need a lot. This turquoise cross hutch is awesome. I could set up lots of buffets on this. They have several pieces that match this piece on their website. 

I love this piece. I think of a million place I would put this turquoise night stand. I price makes me a little sad though. 

Turquoise Bar Stools -Turquoise Thursday

Remember when last week I said I got two amazing gifts from the Boy's family. Well here is the second.

These turquoise bar stools were an early birthday present, and I love them. They found them when they were down in Texas for the Fort Worth Stock Show. Just another reason why I must get back there next year.

I should not be allowed to browse Lone Star Western Decor. Not only do they have another set of amazing bar stools I've had my eye on they also sell this gorgeous, ridiculously expensive turquoise trunk bench. Thanks to Dirt Road Dreamer for reminding me about this wonderful piece. 

And I think this turquoise bench is quite wonderful too. 

Turquoise Wood Furniture

I love it when I get blogging suggestions from my readers and this was a good one. Michael Plate, MDP Woodworks, sent me these pictures last night of night stand his wife finished for a customer.

Isn't it pretty. 

And I love the details on the drawer pulls. I don't think I have ever seen anything like them before.

It’s been tough to stay in the shop lately, we are deep into our Fall calving season, and it can be quite demanding! But I have been able to get this Humidor done in the past two weeks. A close friend of my son has developed an interest in cigars and needed a humidor. And before my son left for college he asked if I could build it for his buddy. And since I have never developed an ability to say no to my kid, of course I would. (I would have done it anyway because his friend is a good one too!) So in between trips to the pasture, I got started. 

Lorec Ranch Turquoise

Wow

Last weekend when I was in Oklahoma I had the chance to do a little shopping. I mean it was my birthday month, time to spoil myself a little right?

I had drove past Lorec Ranch a million times before, but previous to this day, I never had time to stop. Let's just say I am glad the stars aligned so I could finally pop on in.

I insistently fell in love with this turquoise kitchen table set, and I could not believe how reasonably priced it was. I'll invite you all to come have supper at my place on day at this turquoise table. 

I also thought this bedroom was quite pretty. 

I did end up buying one piece, but it was a touch to large for my suitcase! I'll be picking it up in April when I have a vehicle in Oklahoma. Can't wait to show it to you!

Turquoise nursery decorations

Turquoise for a boy or girl

I was so excited when my good friend Jill sent me an email with the photos of their baby nursery, all decked out in turquoise! Jill and Cole aren't sure whether they are having a boy or girl so they decided to go with a more neutral palette of turquoise, beige and dark wood.

Jill and Cole's family raises purebred Charolais, Simmental and Hereford cattle, so it is only proper that each of the breeds are represented in these baby calf pictures! 

I love how Jill has tied little bits of the farm into her sleek, classic design. The fat little cow on the top shelf is too cute.

Jill couldn't leave out rest of the family members either. Jack, Jill's Jack Russell is her other right-hand man. Again, I love the dark wood pieces they have chosen for the room. Congrats Jill and Cole can't wait to meet the newest member of your family.

Turquoise Thursday: Outside Entertaining

It's summertime.

I can't believe it is summertime! We have a covered deck at our house that is perfect for grilling. Now if I can just stay home longer enough, we can have a little party out there.

We registered at Pottery Barn for our wedding. I crossed my fingers so hard that someone would be a good friend and buy me these beautiful turquoise plates.

And they came through. I didn't register for the whole set, but I did receive eight of these Cambria Turquoise Dinner Plates. 

And another eight of these turquoise dessert plates. Wouldn't a cupcake look so pretty on that plate.

Now if I was going get a few things to add to my little porch I think these would work.

I could also sit at my turquoise French Bistro Steel Table. It is even on sale! Two of my blogging friends have been telling me I must get to Target as they have some great turquoise patio chairs. Where is your favorite place to entertain during the summer?

Turquoise Thursday: Turquoise Front Door

Get the paint bucket out. 

I have a feeling when the the Boy and I are in our permanent home one day and I say let's paint the house turquoise he is going to put a big veto on that. So this is going to be my alternate suggestions. A turquoise door.

I mean how perfect is this front door. Just replace the rubber boots with rubber boots that are covered in cow poop and this could totally be the door that welcomes our family and friends. Click on the Southern Living link and they give you the exact color.

A little brighter this time. I could throw out the argument. 

Me: "How about lime green." 

The Boy: "No way."

Me: "I was really hoping you would say yes."

The Boy: "Not happening."

Me: "How about a compromise. Turquoise?" 

And then I am predicting the win. Fingers crossed.

This girl is my idol. She painted all of her doors turquoise. Front, side entrance and patio.
